Defensive Driver Training and Municipalities

Each year in Canada, municipal employees drive millions of kilometres carrying out their jobs as police officers, firemen, by-law officers and other municipal functions to keep cities and towns operating. They drive various types of vehicles, in vastly different road conditions, resulting in increased potential liability. Should a municipal vehicle be involved in a collision or cause damage to private property, the municipality can face large lawsuits and settlements.
