Community Engagement and Charity

At JLT Canada we strive to support the communities in which we operate. Servicing over 300 municipalities in Canada, we believe it is our responsibility to make a positive contribution to the communities where we live and work.

To maximize the difference we can make in our communities, we are supporting charitable organizations whose strategic focus complements our own. This year our Community Engagement and Charity program is supporting the theme “the fight to end hunger."

Food insecurity and hunger continue to be prevalent issues across Canada. Currently, over 850,000 Canadians use a food bank each month – roughly 30% of this population is children and youth.  In 2016 more than 100,000 Canadians relied on food banks in British Columbia, in Alberta that number was close to 80,000, while in Ontario over 300,000 Canadians relied on food banks for meal support.

In an effort to improve these realities, our people at each branch – Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Guildford and Victoria – are focusing their time and energy to help support their local food bank. We will be hosting national Volunteer Days this spring and fall, and a national Food Drive and Fund-raising campaign this holiday season.
